What a coincidence that my first proposal on the wiki is a Double Proposal as well with some familiar faces. Note: This is copied from the proposals they have on the Shonen Rivals as well as the Shonen and Heroes wikis. However, I have created those proposals so it shouldn't go against the rules of honor here.
What's the Work?[]
Moriarty the Patriot is a Japanese mystery anime/manga created by Ryosuke Takeuchi which focuses on Sherlock's nemesis, William James Moriarty, and portrays him in a more heroic light.
Who are They[]
Sherlock Holmes is a deuteragonist of the manga who serves as an opposing rival and nemesis to the protagonist, William James Moriarty. William James Moriarty is the villainous protagonist of the manga who seeks to reform England via his villainous actions.
What Makes Them Light Novel Heroes[]
Sherlock Holmes:[]
- Heroic/Honorable: Sherlock has exposed the crimes and atrocities of the corrupt English nobility, took down Charles Augustus Milverton and served as a catalyst for the redemption of William. He also displayed genuine respect to William, seeing him as a genuine friend and a worthy opponent.
- Charismatic: Holmes was able to charm William in their first meeting on the Noahtic, leading him to be the detective in William's plans to expose the aristocracy.
- Highly Intelligent: Sherlock is a detective who is incredibly capable of figuring out intentions and methods based on even the smallest of clues.
- Unfazed by Circumstances: Sherlock wasn't particularly concerned when witnessing or hearing about the various murders done in the show.
- Snarky: In Part 1, Sherlock sometimes mocked other people at times.
- Introverted: Prior to the story, Sherlock had no friends and by the present, mainly holds friendships with Dr. Watson and William.
- Dark Hair: Sherlock's hair is a dark blue color.
William James Moriarty:[]
- Heroic/Honorable: While using villainous means to do so, William was always trying to stop the classist system and later redeemed himself at the end of Part 1, being a full on hero. Before that, he did heroic deeds such as stopping the Jack the Ripper killings. William also shows respect and empathy to those who were harmed by the classist system whilst also respecting Sherlock for his intelligence and innate nobility.
- Charismatic: William's charming nature allowed him to gain the trusts of his victims while also having many allies in his criminal plans.
- Stoic: William often hides any unstable emotions with a mild smile and is relatively calm on the surface when seeing a dead body.
- Highly Intelligent: William pulls off numerous impressive gambits and plans in order to achieve his idea of a better world.
- Overpowered: William was already quite knowledgeable and intelligent as a child.
- Unfazed by Circumstances: William often hides any unstable emotions with a mild smile and is relatively calm on the surface when seeing a dead body.
- Neat Hair: William's hair is often straight in the story.
